Yesterday, I successfully modified the MicroKid Related Posts version 2.5 plugin became support for multi language. I edited the strings that still did not use the gettext function, added the sub directory named “languages”, and then added the .mo file into it. I have created the Indonesian translation file into that sub directory. So, there is one .mo file at the moment. I have implemented this multi language version into one of my sites that support for multi language. I hope the author of this plugin will add this multi language feature into the next release.
However, if you want to use the multi language version of MicroKid Related Posts version 2.5 plugin, please download microkids-related-posts_multi-language. If you feel curious with the modification that I had made, you can compare the changes with the original version 2.5 one by using a tool such as WinMerge.
As usual, extract the .zip file to your wp-content/plugins/ sub directory and then activate it from your wp admin if you use it for the very first time. If you have already used it, then simply extract and replace the old version with this new one.
Hi, the newest version of MicroKid’s plugin just sort of became incompatible with my blog. You can check out my complaint at the wordpress org forum. Now, I’m looking for an older version of the plugin. Would your ‘microkids-related-posts_multi-language’ work with my non-multilanguage blog? I have deactivated the plugin for now and I missed the ‘related’ links on my posts.
Update: Already fixed by MicroKid’s author. Re-activated.
